Ophthalmic scissors is a microsurgical designed for incising tissues of anterior and posterior eye chambers, dissecting cornea, cutting suturing materials, as well as cutting tissues during removal of the eyeball (enucleation and evisceration) and /or surrounding biological structures (for example, while excising malignant tumors).
The instrument presents a pair of blades pivoted so that the sharpened edges slide against each other when the handles are closed. The blades may be straight, curved (vertically or laterally), or angled (vertically or laterally), smooth or serrated, with blunt or pointed tips. Ophthalmic scissors vary in the retaining system design (universal
CILITA® scissors are made of medical grade stainless steel to ensure best cutting qualities over a long period of time.
Ophthalmic scissors are used during cataract removal, IOL explantation, surgical management of glaucoma, removal of ocular lesions, pterygium excision, keratoplasty, ptosis correction, lacrimal surgery, blepharoplasty, ectropion/entropion repair.

A lens manipulator is a hand-held ophthalmic surgical instrument for relocation, expression, rotation, and manipulation of the eye lens, as a rule during ultrasound emulsification of the cataract prior to aspiration while preparing to implant an intraocular lens (IOL). It usually consists of a rod-type handle with a working tip shaped as a hook, a Y-shaped probe, a ring or as any other suitable form.
CILITA® lens manipulator presents a combination of a stainless steel working part and a titanium handle to minimize the weight of the instrument. The working tip is often made of high-grade stainless steel.
Ophthalmic lens manipulators are used during cataract extraction surgery.
THESE ARE REUSABLE INSTRUMENTS
Having more than 40 different models of lens manipulators in our product portfolio, CILITA Ltd is able to meet the needs of cataract surgeons across the world.
Ophthalmic retractors are used to separate and retain soft tissues of the eye socket for examination or surgical interference. A retractor may have a wide, fork-shaped blade with several blunt or sharp prongs, attached to its own handle. Another configuration presupposes a surgical instrument with a locking element, which is designed for retracting the edges of a surgical incision providing access to the lacrimal sac during an ophthalmic surgery.
CILITA® retractors are made of titanium and stainless steel.
Retractors are used to retract ocular tissues during oculoplastic surgical procedures, cataract surgery, vitreoretinal surgery, strabismus surgery, enucleation, eye tumor surgery, and for examination of the eye globe.

A lacrimal probe is an ophthalmic instrument for dilation or examination of the lacrimal duct (canal). It may be flexible and thin, in form of a malleable rod reinforced at the center for firm hold, with two blunted cylindrical or pear-shaped working tips. Another type is a handle with a single or double working part; the tips may have suture eye holes.
CILITA® lacrimal probes are made of stainless steel, titanium alloy, or a combination of both.
Lacrimal probes are used during surgical procedures for nasolacrimal duct and canalicular obstructions and after DCR surgery to ensure the lacrimal drainage system is patent.
THESE ARE REUSABLE INSTRUMENTS
The range of CILITA® eye probes comprises over 25 items designed to address both routine and problematic situations involving the obstructed nasolacrimal system.
A microsurgical needle holder is a hand-held ophthalmic instrument intended to grip a surgical needle when pushing or pulling it through the biological tissues along with the suturing material inserted, during suturing procedure. It has short jaws at the distal end for better grip of the needle.
CILITA® ophthalmic needle holders are shaped as forceps with pullback-spring type handles which are operated by pressing them together. Our ophthalmic needle holders are made of titanium alloy which is non-magnetic to needles and also lightweight to avoid wrist fatigue. All CILITA® ophthalmic needle holders feature inserts (platforms) made of hard-alloy material – tungsten carbide – to firmly grasp the needle.
Ophthalmic needle holders are used to guide the surgical needles during cataract extraction, corneal transplantation, glaucoma surgery, DCR, blepharoplasty, retinal detachment surgery, and any other ophthalmic surgery requiring suturing.
THESE ARE REUSABLE INSTRUMENTS
The range of CILITA® microsurgical needle holders includes over 20 models designed for use with 5-0 to 11-0 sutures.
